Holiday Soiree in the Ivy Ballroom

The Surf Hotel is honored to present a Holiday Soiree in the Ivy Ballroom!

Wear your holiday party attire and join us for a festive evening featuring an all-levels swing dance lesson with Swingin’ Denver. Whether you’re taking your first steps or are a seasoned dancer, this lesson welcomes everyone and a partner is not required. Take what you’ve learned to the floor for a community social dance following the lesson! The dance will feature live jazz music by the Everybody’s Friends trio: Hunter Burgamy of the New Orleans-based Secret Six Jazz Band, Ryan Gould, and Lauryn Gould of the Austin, Texas swing dance circuit!

Enjoy delicious charcuterie cups and vegetarian offerings prepared by Wesley & Rose and served during the dance. A cash bar will also be available on-site.

Swingin’ Denver grows the swing dance community by offering fun & dynamic classes, creating live music events across Metro Denver and beyond, and collaborating with people and places.

Kenny and Jesse Nelson can't wait to teach and dance in BV! This Denver-based couple have been dancing for decades and enjoy sharing their love of Lindy Hop with audiences across Colorado. Their classes are engaging, fun, and rewarding for all levels of students.

ABOUT THE BAND (Everybody's Friends)

Upon meeting several years ago, Hunter Burgamy (guitar/banjo/voice), Lauryn Gould (reeds/voice), and Ryan Gould (string bass/voice) became fast friends, bonding over a kindred passion for early jazz and swing music. These phenomenal musicians and dear pals have since collaborated whenever possible, now under the moniker “Everybody’s Friends.”

Performing the tastiest selections of obscurities and favorites from the last century along with their own original tunes, this delightful group will keep your feet shuffling and your spirits lifted.
